So he marries her and then dumps her for THREE YEARS?!?! I felt what was missing was some serious grovelling the MC. I have a huge bone to pick with the MC. You're trying to tell me that he completely disregarded his wife's desires, feelings and needs for his entire marriage? He thinks he's done the honourable thing because he helped her out of a bad situation? He seems petulant and childish whereas is she sounds amazing and well-rounded. He does not deserve her, and I'm pretty sure that if this weren't a historical romance where it's frowned upon to separate, they would be set for divorce.
