Dumplin'

I really liked this book! It was so well written and had a great message behind it. I loved Willowdean and the exploration of her relationship with her mother, her best friend, society, and the hot guy. The backdrop of the pageant was fun and I liked seeing a little bit into Texas, a place I have not been to but find fascinating. The only thing I didn't like was a bit of flip flopping on Willowdean's part. She was so confident when she talked to her mother but then was completely insecure around Bo. I wanted her to pick on side, although I understood where she was coming from from both sides. I really hope there is a sequel so that I can catch up with these great characters.
