The story was very slow and bogged down with world-building that would’ve been better received if it had been more spread out over the course of the story. I don’t usually mind slower books if I like the characters, but this book didn’t even have that in its favor. I have a lot of library books to read and not a lot of time left to read them, so I’m not wasting time or energy on anything that can’t hold my interest. 🤷🏼
