The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
4.0

Charming, hilarious, heart-felt novel. I almost had tears, several times.

Khai is a autistic guy (Michael's from The Kiss Quotient cousin) of Vietnamese origin. His mum goes to Vietnam and comes back with a bride. Meet Esme, hard-working, shy, poor, with a baby daughter and a father disappeared in California. Add forced proximity, cuteness overload, akwardness at all times, misunderstandings, and struggles at figuring out feelings and emotions. All too real, unbearable struggle.

I got slightly frustrated at how Esme kept pushing Khai for the 3 words, since I value actions more than words, it felt gratuitous at times.

I loved Khai's family though, a lot. The way they support each other, the way Quan looks after his younger brother. I can't wait for his own book.
