This book was not what I thought it was going to be! I totally thought vampires would be in it but the alternative was not disappointing. The concept was cool and different, I also think the setting is unique. I loveddd Luzia with her personality and her situation; I love that she doesn’t give up and it was refreshing to have a FMC that wasn’t looked at for her beauty. I also loved Santángel and the fact that he seemed to want Luzia more than she wanted him! That was fun and different too. Also “El Alacrán” is such a dope nickname. A lot of this book felt slow and dragged out but at the same time i feel like this could’ve been a series so that certain concepts could be expanded on. I also didn’t love the heavily religious aspects but get that it’s a big part of the book. I liked the ending but kind of wanted more!
