Dude, like how do I describe perfection in words. How do I adequately describe why this book is excellence.
In a bulleted list of course
*Cath is an outstanding main character. I understood her so deeply and felt connected to Her on so many levels
*Rowell knows her shit when it comes to fandom and fan fiction and I appreciated how she discussed transformative fandom and the representation of it's culture and tropes
*Levi is the best love interest for real. We don't get enough soft boys in romance and I LOVED how much he cared for Cath and his personality was aces
*I was SUPER invested in all of the SimonBaz snippets sprinkled in throughout the story. I really enjoyed reading Cath's fics. I low key want to go to a world where all of it exists to read cause I would be SO into it
*Rowell's dialogue is *Chef's Kiss*. she effortlessly conveys underlying tension between characters through seemingly innocuous dialogue without being heavy handed in the descriptions
I will forever be unsatisfied with this review because Lord knows I could write a thousand word essay about everything in this book that I adored but this is what I've written. Rowell wrote a story that spoke to me. It spoke to my love of fan fiction, it spoke to my fears of college to just resonated and I don't know how to put that in word just yet.
