How to Bake Everything: Simple Recipes for the Best Baking
by Mark Bittman
Seeing the description, I thought this book would be similar to Kenji Lopez-Alt's The Food Lab. I was wrong. The focus here lay mainly on the recipes, not on the how and why of them. Instructions in the explanation part where sometimes unclear and I really missed the pictures with the recipes.
For all I missed in it though, I think this is the most complete set of baking recepies I've ever seen. From the basic chocolate cakes and apple pies, to things I've never heard of before.
I haven't tried out any of the recipes (yet) so I've got no clue if they're actually any good, but the sheer amount of them is very impressive.
