The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
by Stieg Larsson
This is one of my new favorites. It starts slow and leaves the reader with no real sense of direction. I admit I was initially turned off - for there was a lot of financial jargon which went right over my head. However, this all makes sense and becomes important as the novel progresses. While it starts slow, it quickly morphs into something else altogether - a murder mystery from the past is visited by a financial journalist at the request of a rich, elderly gentleman. The characters are well developed and intriguing. I really want the second book (yes, this is apparently a trilogy, even though the author died before any were published) to come out.
