Sharks Don't Sink: Adventures of a Rogue Shark Scientist
by Jasmin Graham
emotional
hopeful
informative
inspiring
reflective
fast-paced
Part memoir, part scientific research, part social commentary, I enjoyed learning about sharks, Graham’s life, and the intersection of race and science. I appreciated the way she demonstrated the parallels between the way society vies sharks and Black people
My only issue with this was the writing itself— it felt like it needed another pass with the editor
Overall I liked this story and Graham’s dedication to carving her way and making space for others in spaces where not everyone is welcome and celebrated
