The Lost Apothecary
by Sarah Penner
I generally don't give books a 1-star rating if I've finished them, but this was a light read, and I kind of kept hoping that it would redeem itself. So I made an exception!
Claire Smith summed things up better'n I could, even though she didn't mention the incongruity of an English child in 1791 using metres to measure things nor (I may have missed it) each of the 3 characters' voices sounded exactly the same, despite 1 being real old, one real young, one real middle, 2 from 1791 London, and 1 from modern America.
