alright get ready for rambling and ranting and so much frustration!

let’s start with what i hated the most:
the author was apparently incapable of googling.

look i get that it was not that easy to research books set in countries your not from back before the internet!
but now?
i hate it when authors are just too lazy to simply look something up.
you are writing a book.
get up your lazy ass and look things up!
look up where places are and if stores exist in the cities your are placing your book!
it takes seconds!!
it’s super easy!!

and i just honestly get even more frustrated when it happens in a book that has been translated. this book had to go through so many hands. and non of those people bothered to look up simple facts to get them straight?! why?!

want example?

victoria’s secret is not a store that exists in sicily.
want to know why? because it’s ITALY!!
do you know what the two meccas of fashion on the world are?!
i give you a hint: italy is one of them!!

and you know what else is popular in the entire world that comes from italy? their lace!

so you know what a proud italian business man that is proud of is country would not do?
go inside a victoria’s secret to buy overpriced underwear if you have the option to buy italian made designer ones!
let alone that -once again!- the store doesn’t even exist where the story is set! so it’s not even possible.

can we also just shortly talk about the fact that if you are kidnapped i wouldn’t just happily spend thousands of euros buying stuff the man that kidnapped me wants me to try on for him?
if he wants me in other clothes he better have a weapon directly on me to force me to try that stuff on other wise try it yourself to see if it fits your tastes!
