I don't think it's possible to review this book without using the word "cute". It really is cute. It's also cosy and heartwarming, with a plot that would be utterly perfect as a BBC Christmas animation. The illustrations are lovely. 

For me personally it wasn't quite what I wanted, maybe because I don't actually often choose to watch BBC Christmas animations! It's just not my usual type of thing. I still had a good time with it though and I could easily see how someone else might absolutely adore the book. I can imagine a lot of kids wanting to read it over and over again. 

It is set around Christmas, but the plot isn't actually all that Christmassy so you could easily read it at other times of the year too. 

Cosy and cute.
