Overall, two enjoyable short stories. Were they completely necessary? Maybe not. But it did help provide some background and some interesting information about key characters in the Red Queen series, so I am happy I read it. Most of all, I was happy to get more of a sense for Coriane, as only bits of her story have been revealed throughout the series. It helped me understand Cal and his personality more.
