Happiness, Vol. 7
by Shuzo Oshimi
We went from recovering from PTSD to a volume all about torturing and finding out the truth.
This is some sick twisted shit. Yukiko can't catch a break as she makes her way to this cult like family following their leader who slit her throat just a few years ago. When she confronts him he plays it off as a nice dude who has turned over a new leaf. But in reality we all know better. Without spoilers, the following events range from me getting pissed off to feel disturbed I'm viewing this. WHY CAN'T Yukiko BE HAPPY!
Overall, this series tends to play with my emotions. And while the last volume was a great look into the mind of someone, this goes more back to the root of this story...happiness isn't given to people. And in comes plenty of torture and fucked up moments. How will it all end?
A 4 out of 5.
