Not a bad first book. I enjoyed the relationship between the cousin main characters, it was really sweet. I found the way the cat acted a bit jarring because she acted more human than cat and I kept thinking it was a human character doing these things only to realize, "Oh, it's the cat."

The narrator did a cute job of making the cat noises, though.

One thing that did annoy me was the INSTANT attraction to the mysterious detective who was trying to solve the case. She immediately fell for him and kept blushing and acting like a hormonal teenager. She knows nothing about this man yet she's immediately head over heels from the first moment he walks in. Why? Just because he's attractive?
