Runaway Groomsman by Meghan Quinn
4.0

Another hit from Meghan Quinn! I really enjoyed this book. The opening scene with Sawyer at his ex's wedding and what he does? Solid gold. I just loved this plot so much because it started off so unhinged, and then everything starts to fall into place. I just small town romances that feature a celebrity hiding out and falling in love with the town they escape to. I love the way Meghan Quinn world builds and writes her secondary characters. You not only like the main characters, but you're also invested in the stories of the side characters too! I love the twist about Sawyer and Fallon having technically met before they meet again and the circumstances behind that. This is certainly the definition of a slow burn; they really don't even kiss until about 75%. But, it's well worth the wait. I absolutely adored the Sully storyline and especially how Sawyer went out of his way to help him and be there for him and in turn, be there for Fallon. He certainly has a heart of gold.

The reason I took away a star: first of all, there was no warning that this would be a love triangle. Fallon has a long distance boyfriend for the majority of the book and it kind of takes away from it, because you can tell just how much more Sawyer is into Fallon than she is into him, due to her existing boyfriend. There's absolutely no cheating or anything like that, but it did make me feel meh about it. And secondly, Jaz ROYALLY PISSED ME OFF. I get it, she's this protective best friend but she was just mean at times and so freaking annoying. I actually really hated her by the end because even though she apologized to Sawyer and they made up, blah blah blah, SHE STILL SLASHED HIS TIRES FOR BASICALLY NO REASON! I seriously could have done without her, or at the very least, she really should have been toned down and not so over the top.
