Magical. Tarisai starts out facing her decision to enter the Underworld and it only gets more tense from there. I think the pacing was better than the first, though I never did get to know the rest of the council members as much as I would have liked. It felt like I kept being told they were important but they never actually did anything. The ending was perfect.
