I'm glad I listened to the audiobook since all of the French words and names would have had me stumbling a bit. There's an unfortunate lack of world building and the only real indication of the setting were the French words and names. The dialogue was one of the biggest issues for me as well.

I didn't love this one but I didn't hate it either. The Nina and Matthias vibes are very prevalent but Lou is no Nina and Reid is no Matthias. I'll try it again before the 2nd book releases but I don't anticipate it being a favorite.
