I love Mariana Zapata with my whole-ass heart. I don’t actually know how many times I’ve read/listened to this one, but I had to check out the new audio with duet narration. While I loved both narrators’ voices, the person voicing Vanessa was sort of high-pitched monotone which really grated after a while.

Anyway. I’m usually *not* a fan of anything resembling fake relationships or marriage of convenience, but I really love this one. I love Vanessa the most. Aiden is a douchebag and a grump with honestly pretty few redeeming qualities, lol, but he genuinely comes around. It’s *not* love at first sight or a smooth ride. Sometimes it takes time for feelings to change and grow, and while I’m sure we all wanted to strangle Aiden a time or two, he has pretty good development throughout the book.

I’m such a sucker for the Zapata slow burn and slowly building tension, and this book has it in spades.
