The Espressologist

Jane knows coffee, she lives it, breaths it, sells it and as of late she seems to be able to judge people by the type of coffee they drink. Jane is not your average seventeen-year-old. With the final leg of high school being a total drag, and the allure of extra money always around, she applies for a promotion at work, and is stoked when she gets it.
Soon she finds herself matching customers up with one another, based on their choice of drinks. From young teenage love, to senior citizens finding a new partner, Jane seems to be hitting the nail on the head every time. So why is she suddenly second guessing her pairing of her best friend Em, with her college friend, Cam?
When picking up this book, I assumed it would be a cute fun read, and that is exactly what I got. The character of Jane is fun, bubbly and full of life. I really enjoyed how unique of a character she was. She skipped school, but only because she worked, and she knew that she had to work to get herself to college within a year. She was sassy without being a bitchy character and she seemed to really value her family and friends.
The secondary characters complimented Jane quite well. Em was the perfect best friend, who was always there for her, making sure she stayed out of trouble, and forgiving her whenever Jane screwed up. The two, all but read each others minds, and held an incredible bond.
Cam was a great male lead for Jane, with his very laid back and mysterious attitude. He seems to be the calm to Jane’s bubbly, energetic self. He keeps her guessing which I thought was pretty great because work and school seem to come easy to her, but this was a puzzle she had to fight to crack open.
I enjoyed this book although I was a little disappointed by the speed of the story. So much seemed to happen in such a short amount of time, I felt at times the story was a little rushed, or rather, I wish I had more details to read. I would of really loved to get to know some of the secondary characters more or gotten a better feel for Jane herself.
I recommend this book if you are looking for a cute, quick read that will have you smiling throughout the entire book.
