The magic and mayhem continues.

This is book 2 in the Hidden Species series and Louisa Masters continues on with the wonderful world building, strong complex characters and a smooth plot line that flows along at an engaging pace. Her story telling ability comes to the fore in this urban fantasy series which just ticks all my boxes.

The overall story arc continues and this time Andrew and Noah are centre stage and what a combustible pair they are. The snarky, tough, no nonsense “puny” human Noah gets very exasperated with the centuries old vampire Andrew who takes great joy in pushing the team members buttons and acting like an immature 5 year old at times. There is never any malice to their shenanigans but it does provide for many laugh out loud moments.

Slowly but surely their mutual attraction develops leading to some steamy moments and a well deserved HEA, but only after the addition of some new, unexpected protagonists who team up with an old foe to cause a bit of a mayhem.

I found this to be a wonderful, enjoyable read that had me hooked from the start and I can’t wait for more.
