Hockey hotties – sign me up!
I am a sucker for a hockey romance, so it was a no brainer to read Winning It All.
It is not much different from a lot of the famous-hockey-star-manwhore-player-meets-the-one-yay-HEA (phew!) stories out there.
But this time I liked that it was the guy wasn't the the bad guy. He wasn't the one always stuffing up. He wasn't the one having to do the grovelling.
Sebastian and Shayne (Shay)'s "relationship" began with a bang but for every 2 steps forward they moved one step back.
Shay frustrated me. Ugh, yes we get that things in the past made her twitchy when it came to relationships, but come on woman, wake up and smell the enforcer!
Sexy frenchman Sebastian - boy, he had me wanting someone whispering French sweet nothings into my ears - I was all for him right from the get go. In fact if I was him I would have told Shay forget it a long time ago!
I did love how he never really gave up though. I just wanted him to be enough. To be enough to break through those trust barriers that Shay had reinforced round her head and her heart.
There are great secondary characters (that I guess I will have to go back and read the previous books to learn more about!) along with some characters that I just wanted to junk punch for being such douchenuggets!
Winning It All is a well written, well paced, sweet story that held my attention from the first words to the last, and I look forward to what Ms Denault brings us next.
