In his 14th Gabriel Allon spy novel, Daniel Silva is again at the top of his game in creating a story with many twists, turns and surprises with a cast of familiar characters along with new villains and victims. Undertaking his day job as an art restorer on a project in Venice, Italy, he is soon blackmailed by Italian authorities into recovering a lost Caravaggio painting. Of course, all is not what it seems and Allon is quickly thrust into his Mossad mode as the plot morphs into high stakes international intrigue. A must read for Silva fans and new fans will want to real all the Allon novels.
