This book somehow managed to be both boring and infuriating, which is quite a feat.
I loved the premise, that two people who missed each other in one lifetime got a do-over to be together. But everything else was garbage. Paul and Angelina were judgmental assholes from start to finish. The whole book felt very pro-war, which was weird as it was supposed to be a romance. Angelina lies to Paul for their daughter's entire fucking life because she thinks if he knows he got her pregnant, he'll marry her out of guilt and end up hating her--so she thinks it's reasonable to tell him she cheated and it's another man's child, and he doesn't find out until after Angelina is dead. WHAT. THE. FUCK. There was no climax, just chapters that went from insanely detailed during college and Paul's time in Vietnam to jumping decades at a time by the end of the story. When Angelina's mom committed suicide and Angelina's response was "oh, fine, I'd do the same" I almost rolled my eyes right out of my head. This was pure and utter garbage.
