It's been a while since I've read a book like this. Post apocalyptic, dystopian type setting, I was a little apprehensive but OMG I fell in love with this world, these characters, the setting, everything about it. It sucked me right in and I couldn't get enough of it.
I LOVED River and Josh. Their journey to love was a unique one and I was here for it all. They found each other at a time they needed, both personally and to save their world as they know it. They became each other's person and deep down it felt like they were fated, they were soulmates and they had such a deep connection.
With what was going on and the whole premise of the plot, I was not expecting it to be funny at times. The things that River would say at times had me cracking up. His bluntness was so real. He really had no filter and was hilarious with some of the things that he said.
also Chapter 19 and that last line π« honestly from Chapter 19 until the end of the book, I was on the edge of my seat, heart beating with what was happening and what was going to happen. Also that ending, because of everything the two had been through, I wanted more a different outcome, I wanted to see them with their HEA, not just up in the air like that.
I really enjoyed the majority of the side characters and I hope we get more on Caden and Finn and more time in this world.
