The Mistake
by Elle Kennedy
ARC received for an honest review
This is the second book in the Off Campus series, and to get the the full impact of the story in The Mistake, you should read The Deal first.
We met John Logan - just call him Logan - in The Deal, as he is the main man Garrett's best friend.
Well, now Logan is the main man, and this is his story.
Hockey star Logan is still smarting from things at the end of the deal. Healing a bit of a broken heart, he is retreating from his friends to avoid more hurt. Well, retreating from his friends, but still whoring his way through the girls at the university.
Grace's first run in with Logan nothing to write home about, their second accidental meeting changes things for both herself and Logan in more ways than one.
I adore Grace. She is smart, sexy, and love the interesting facts she comes up with when she gets nervous and starts babbling. It is like verbal incontinence as things just tumble out of her mouth!
Logan, Logan, Logan. He could be such a jerk at times, but then at others he could be so beautiful and heartbreaking, you just wanted to give him a big hug. There was so much more to Logan than you think you are going to get.
I loved that Grace didn't just fall into Logan's bed like all the other ladies seemed to do. If it is worth having, it is worth working for, and boy did she make him work!
There is a great scene with "a list" that had me really laugh. I mean real belly laughs.
There were times I laughed, there were times I teared up while our lovelies were kind of treading water, trying to find their way to a real relationship. Oh, and when we get to the sexy times, they were seeeexxxy. All those man-whoring ways mean that Logan really knows what he is doing!
There was one character that I felt quite violent towards, and it is not the one you would think it would be. Not going to mention which one as I don't want to taint anyone's opinions, but gah, if I could have reached into the book and throat punched them, it would have happened!
I have really been drawn into this series, so I hope we don't have too long to wait for me. Please please please let it be Dean's story!
I have to say, I think I liked Logan's story better than Garrett's in The Deal - and wasn't sure if that was going to happen.
