Black Creek White Lies by Murray Bailey
4.0

18 months after being wrongly accused of missing girl Jades murder Dan returns home to try and rebuild his life. That’s easier said than done though when the locals won't let him forget and still blame him. Dan is soon drawn back in and decides to get to the bottom of Jade's disappearance himself with the help of his ex-girlfriend.

This isn’t my usual kind of mystery book as I tend to be sucked in by the gross and gory murders. However, I thoroughly enjoyed the change. I had no idea where the story was leading or who the hell was responsible for any of it let alone who could be trusted. When a girl from the past is brought up I couldn't work out how it was connected but it all comes together in the end. It’s not an overly fast paced book but it kept me hooked and I was desperate to get some answers and find out what had happened.

It’s written well and I loved the characters. Some of the descriptions of places etc were a bit long winded but I would definitely read more from Murray.

I was gifted a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
