This book series still feels like a fever dream. I can't even rationally explain why I liked this book as much as I did, it's just so addictive. Maybe I had to read the first book to get used to this insanity and now that I know what to expect I'm intrigued (also I am finally able to tell all the characters and their backstories apart). This book made me love Neil so much; it also had some amazing sports moments (I literally punched my bed in excitement at one point), the beginning of a fucked up yet beautiful found family and was paced in a way that had me hooked the whole time. - I think there's a lot one can criticize (like the way Andrew talks, imo it's a little over the top for what the author is probably trying to achieve), but I don't have the nerve to write an in depth analysis right now :D
I also think that most ppl who read these books know what to expect from them and will love them for it. I think I'm one of these people now, I liked this one a lot more than the first one and am now excited to start the third one soon. Especially bc the last sentence was pretty badass.
