This is a book of 3 friends that each have something huge going on in their life.

Annie- not very happy as a Pastor's wife and feels like she does it all for everyone and turns to a certain prescription to help her through.

Jo- contemplating divorce from her husband, even though he's a good man.

Sondra- being blackmailed for an indiscretion of hers when her much older husband stops giving her what she needs.

When Annie lands in the hospital, Jo and Sondra immediately drop everything to go to her. They end up going on a canoe/camping trip like they did when they were going. These best friends need to help each other through each of their struggles.

This book got a little preachy at the end which kind of turned me off as it wasn't prevalent in the beginning.
