The Pumpkin Spice Café
by Laurie Gilmore
lighthearted
I’ve really got to stop reading books that are hyped up on bookstagram. I am always left disappointed. I do not understand the hype around this book.
The small town is cute and there are some lovable characters. Logan is not one of them. He needed therapy not a girlfriend. He instantly falls in love with a woman he knows nothing about and then his inner monologue just whines about how she’s obvioulsy going to leave him when they aren’t even together yet. Insta love is my least favourite and the speed these two fall gave me the ick.
I also hate the miscommunication trope but this is ridiculous. One conversation could’ve solved everything. The mystery element gets forgotten and then it’s remembered near the end and is like oh yeah by the way this is who it was.
I’m also pretty sure no human blushes as much as the residents of Dream Harbour. Every interaction seemed to result in someone blushing. It is however a quick easy read and the town does give gilmore girl vibes as promised.
