This is one of those books that is truly worth the hype of it. By mixing timelines and histories, Whitehead manages to paint a clear and heartrendingly real picture of what it means to be black in America. It is, of course, not an easy read but it is beautifully written and compelling. Whitehead is fast becoming a Must Read author for me.
