Unexpected Rush
by Jaci Burton
ARC received for an honest review
I have not read all of the Play by Play series, but this affected my enjoyment of Unexpected Rush in no way at all.
Harmony loves Barrett... Barrett lusts Harmony... never the twain shall meet if Harmony's brother/Barrett's best friend Drake has anything to do with it.
Oh my goodness, the UST between Harmony and Barrett is off the charts! You could cut the sexual tension with a knife!
I adored Harmony from the get go. Smart, sassy, and goes after what she wants. I got so frustrated with Barrett for the pull/push action he had with Harmony. I could understand his "bro code" to a degree, but the way he let it rule his life was beyond me, and I wanted to slap him around the head with my kindle, hoping it would knock some sense into him.
And don't get me started on Drake. I wanted to throttle him, nut punch him, verbally eviscerate him for the way he treated Harmony. I get the older brother routine but enough was enough!
I loved that H & B didn't jump straight into bed - no matter how much Harmony tried it. There was that slow burn from lust (on B's side) to love, they became best friends along the way.
And because of that, I knew things would be explosive when they finally got their act together, and maybe just maybe get the HEA.
I adore Jaci Burton's writing. I was drawn into the story and found myself cheering for our lovelies to sort things out.
I look forward to seeing what Ms Burton brings us next.
