The Christmas Letters
by Jenny Proctor
hopeful
lighthearted
relaxing
fast-paced
I love how this adventure with Drew and Tess begins! Tess gets trapped in a broken handled bathroom stall (with a ridiculous floor to almost the ceiling door) and Drew, a paramedic rescues her while talking her through a panic attack.
Then Tess, who is volunteering by answering Santa letters, finds a 16 year old letter by Max that went unanswered and soon begins a writing correspondence as "Christmas Pen Pal" with the now, her age, letter writer.
This has such cute You've Got Mail vibes. Drew is a wonderful guy and he even watches romantic comedies with his Grandma 😍
Tess is finding her own way in the world without her parents influence and money dictating her every step and decision and I was just cheering her on for the goals she set herself.
I love that Tess has conflicting feelings for Drew and he for her. I liked to see them become friends
