There were parts of this book that I liked and many that I didn’t. It isn’t awful, it’s just lacking. Much of the plot was unexplained, with characters always alluding to plans without actually discussing them. It felt like lazy writing.

If you picked up this book just looking for spice, then put it down and find something else. It’s not until the last quarter of the book that you finally get there, and by that point it happens every other chapter and quickly grows stale.

The side characters were more interesting than the main couple. I enjoyed the relationship between the Scar and Simba characters. I found the ending satisfying and fitting for the plot and characters, but there were many moments that felt unnecessary.
