“change starts with the voices of the few.”

it’s really hard to find a book that makes your heart so full. i don’t remember the last time a book has made me want to squeal and hug it because it was just so pure and lovely.

this book has been the talk of bookstagram, and with good reason. it’s a beautiful story about accepting others as they are and not judging by what they are, instead of who they are. this is a very important story about giving people the chance to prove themselves just as “normal” or “good” as people who already LOOK or SEEM normal or good.

i totally fell in love with these characters. most of them were meant to be seen as monstrous, but they all proved prejudice wrong.

i would compare it to lilo and stitch in the way that the aliens and fbi kept trying to acquire 626 because he’s a dangerous killing machine and lilo seeing right through that and just knowing he was part of her ohana. “does it have to be THIS dog?” “yup, he’s good!”

it’s honestly a beautiful book that i think everyone should read. i think you’ll love the characters too. chauncey was my favorite but they all have my heart.
