'Salem's Lot by Stephen King
3.0

This book was an interesting read for me. I haven't read Stephen King since high school so I wanted to go back and read the ones I very much enjoyed, 'Salem's Lot being my favorite back then. Reading it now, I have a different understanding of the book. It really isn't a vampire book. It doesn't go into detail with the master vampire or how he came into being or even how he lived. This book is about the town. This is why the vampires don't come into the novel in full force until a quarter of the way through the book. I liked seeing the small town and the different personalities. They really all do have, at times deadly, secrets and that was interesting to see. The reason I only gave it three starts is because of the ending. It was super anti-climactic and left the end very open. It did come full circle but wasn't enough for me to leave it with a need to see more of the characters.
