Ahhhh man. I was so excited for this book to come out. I absolutely LOVE Jennifer Armentrout books, and I really enjoy the Covenant series. For me, this book just fell a little short. Maybe it's because I have been in a reading funk this week, or maybe it's because my expectations were so high but either way, it just wasn't everything I was hoping it would be.
Am I completely alone in missing Seth a little?! Don't get me wrong, I love Aiden, I mean how could you not? But Seth is such a shithead instigator, and a welcomed comedic relief. I really enjoy his antics. He was mostly just an afterthought throughout all of this book. He was literally just in the back of Alex's mind. And Alex, wasn't the total smartass that I have come to love either. I get it, she's got a lot of heavy stuff happening and she's maturing, but I missed the smartmouthed trouble maker! It was nice to see Adien and Alex's relationship so out in the open in this book, but it's YA so naturally the steamy scenes were pretty tame. Bummer! Maybe I have been reading too many NA or Romance novels lately, but I was hoping for a little more.
I still love this series, and really look forward to the last book coming out in December. This was still a good read, it was just my least favorite in the series.
