prachi 's review for:
God is not great
by Christopher Hitchens
Ideally, I would have given this book 3.5 stars because Hitchens was occasionally scattered in his thinking and sometimes lacked clarity. While I generally found myself agreeing with a lot with his line of thought, I felt that he should have focused more on his arguments related to the indoctrination of children, the treatment of women, and intelligent design instead of talking so much about the practice of fundamental fringe groups. Additionally, a really interesting chapter on eastern religions could have benefited from more in depth treatment. Overall, however, it was a highly interesting read that raised several really good points about some of the more adverse effects of religion. I simply wish that it would have been a little clearer in expressing its views.
