ros_lanta 's review for:
Braking Day
by Adam Oyebanji
I went into this with no real idea of what to expect and I happily I really liked it. The writing was very easy to read and I was gripped enough that I read the entire book in less than 24 hours. The mysteries in the book kept me guessing for quite some time. The book could possibly have benefited from a stronger ending - it's not a bad ending by any means but I wanted a bit more from it.
I really like how much the author has clearly thought about what life would be like for people who have grown up living solely on board a ship. The worldbuilding was handled really well.
I do have one complaint which is perhaps a minor spoiler - while Braking Day is mentioned frequently within the book, the events of the book actually take place some time before it is due to occur! It is a little frustrating when the book's title led me to believe we would see it happen.
Overall an enjoyable read and I would be interested to read more from this author.
