dermkat 's review for:
I still haven't really formulated my thoughts on this book, but I did find that I related to many of the author and interviewee's stories of growing up within an evangelical purity culture in the 90s and 2000s. I think if you grew up in a similar situation or are older and are wondering why so many people of my generation are leaving the church, this would be a good one to read. I think the author did a great job explaining and gently encouraging the people she interviewed to explain how they were affected as kids/teens/young women and how it still affects them into adulthood. That said, there are many triggering topics included in this book so if you have religious trauma you may want to read an actual description of it before digging in.
