I'm not sure I've ever read a book that made me feel so secure in who I am, and that being who I am is actually okay and how I'm supposed to be (at least partially so). Cain's book is a real eye-opener both for introverts and extroverts. Everything in it makes sense, but she manages to convey it to the reader in a way that is illuminating, like remembering something you'd forgotten a long time ago, so that while reading it I was kind of just nodding my head and saying, "Oh, of course," repeatedly. I'm an introvert who has at various times let that turn into a anti-social behavior (due to various causes or reactions and obviously due to how I grew up and a host of other factors). This book has made me realize what the difference in those behaviors is, how to nurture one and combat the other, and potentially even how to be happy with myself and who I am.
I think this is one of the most important books to come along in a while, and I highly encourage both introverts and extroverts to read this. For introverts, it will help you better understand yourself. For extroverts, it will help you understand those who aren't so much like yourself, which will create better relationships for you and everyone you know. Seriously. Highly recommend.
