The Inexplicable Logic of My Life
by Benjamin Alire Sáenz
I did want to love this book a little more than I did - I feel if I did not already love this author, I don't know if I would have liked this book. I did have a bit of an issue with some of the language, but I think my main concern was the similarities in the plot twists/conflicts in the book - (trying to remain vague to avoid spoilers!). It felt repetitive to me and I wanted a little more plot development. I wanted to dive deeper into certain areas that were glossed over!
In saying that, boy oh boy Sáenz can sure develop a character! I could not love Vicente or Fito more (TBH, I think I would have liked this more if it was from either of their POV's!). I also love the beautiful family dynamic that enriches the book so, so much. The subtlety of Sáenzs' work is truly beautiful.
