OOF. 

I finished this book mainly to be able to read her next book about Sage. 

I really wanted to enjoy this. If I had read this in 2009, I would have been absolutely SMITTEN and on Ellie's side about everything. Unfortunately, reading this as an adult, even as an adult who really enjoys YA, this was just so cringy and the plot was so so so obvious. 

The fact that this was also written. In 2021 with THAT many Harry Potter references, it's just inexcusable. 

I am not writing this author off forever, I really enjoyed her second book and have heard great things about her newest publication but this debut was not great.
