My bestie recommended this book after she found it and read it as her pick for the book club she is in. She was right, it is so good! Finlay Donovan is a down on her luck writer: she got divorced after her husband cheated, she is low on funds because her books aren't well loved, she struggles to take care of her two kids on her own, and she is past her deadline for a draft she just can't seem to write. After a meeting with her agent about getting the draft of her romantic suspense story in, a woman approaches her having overheard and misunderstood. She thinks Finlay is a hit woman who can take care of her husband for her. When said husband ends up dead (not by Finlay's doing) in her mini van, her old nanny agrees to join her and cover up the apparent crime. Then they discover the man's ties to the mob. The twists and turns of this mystery were enjoyable and it is written in a dark humor kind of way where you feel more like you're reading a comedy or Rom-Com while the frazzled single mom contemplates the best way bury a body, which she knows from doing research for her books!
