The Hate U Give
by Angie Thomas
Wow. Best book I've read this year. Best book I've read...maybe ever. Ranks up there with Reality Boy for most important books that I wish everyone would read. Everyone.
Starr is such a rich character - at many times her interactions with her family and friends seemed so mature for high schoolers, but that's the point. She had to analyze the world in a way far past what most consider teens to be capable of.
I wish I could force this book into the hands of every person I meet. Absolutely deserves every award coming its way.
