unfortunately this was very :/
(fair warning, i critique this a lot. thats because i can tell it is meant specifically for my demographic (im 18, therefore a young adult, i use twitch pretty regularly, and have been playing video games for most of my life). otherwise i would probably lay off on the criticism a little bit.)
from what i can tell, im meant to be rooting for vivian throughout this story, but i just genuinely couldn’t. shes a jerk who lies about how her sister died and lied about her love interest and is way too obsessed with her twitch subs!

also my idea of the ending would be that somehow BobbityWorm would play in but hes just. there at the beginning then is never mentioned again??? wild.

also i hated the romance (there were way too important of things happening in this book for a romance isweartogod), but honestly that could just be because ive met some complete jerk emo/goth dudes so i have zero weakness for the dark and mysterious type.
thank god the pacing was fast at least? if this were any longer i wouldve just been like “fuck it im done” and dnf’ed.
this is more minor but again, as someone who is barely older than viv, uses twitch, and plays games regularly, vivian’s inner voice was dare i say cringe. i’d hoped this book would break the YA curse of being annoying when talking about games but i was so wrong

also this book isn’t that creepy i just got horrific second hand embarrassment each time everyone around viv is like “you did this bad thing!” and shes like “whatd i do?”
