Someone You Loved by Robin Constantine

What drew me to this book was the cover; I know I speak for others when I say I truly thought the characters on the cover of this book look exactly like Taylor Swift and Brendon Urie. I'm not ashamed to admit that this was my motivation for choosing this book. While I do not usually read YA books, I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was and how much I enjoyed reading it. Someone You Loved is bittersweet, touching, and explores the all of the stages of grief from a teenage girl and her loyal best friend. Sarah and Jake's grief and nightly talks hit me right in the feels and as someone who has experienced similar things, really resonated with me. I love how their deep friendship blossomed into something more, and the support they provided for one another made for a great foundation for a wonderful romance. I think this book would be great for a teen going through grief and something similar as the characters, and would be very helpful in aiding them in navigating these tough topics.

Thank you NetGalley and Harper Collins Children's Publishing for this digital ARC of Someone You Loved. All opinions and reviews are my own.
