Sailor Moon is one of the most easily recognizable manga to non readers and readers. You've seen it everywhere and you'll most likely continue to because it's very important. And I'm going to tell you why I think Sailor Moon is one of the most important, powerful series of all time (I dare say even in all literature). This series is incredible, beautiful, fantastic, timeless—I have no negative things to say about Sailor Moon. Every character is written with care, they all have such amazing development! The story arcs are awesome, cleverly thought out and wonderfully executed. Also the translation was very good! The translator did an incredible job with Naoko Takeuchi's masterful dialogues. The lessons that Sailor Moon teaches are so important and I think are very inspiring, especially with some of the issues it addresses from the points of views of characters.

Rereading this series has definitely made me appreciate it again. Sailor Moon was very ahead of its time and is very relevant to the time we are in now. This manga came into publication in 1991. While not many people were closed minded about LGBTQ+ and gender identity in Japan at the time, the rest of the world was still behind on acceptance. So to see this manga being successful in North America during a very closed minded time is so amazing. Sailor Moon is a treasure and is for everyone. If you haven't read it, I suggest you do. It is a beautiful manga that I will always recommend.
