I enjoyed this book a lot more than the first. There's a noticeable shift in the writing and characters, they're more fleshed out and don't adhere to the tropes that defined them before. The writing is also a lot better, still heavily descriptive but no longer unnecessarily so. The worldbuilding continue to captivate my attention, especially now that it's mingled with the plot, I can't wait to see what that gives in the final book.
While there are some issues I liked reading this one!
