Dead Lez Walking
by G Benson
Nurse Taren is about to have the worst day at work, as a new virus is announced and of course everyone will rock up to her Accident & Emergency unit convinced they have it. Not to mention running into the gorgeous icequeen vascular surgeon Joy, who blew Taren off after an incredible date weeks ago. Unfortunately, the virus causes the dead to rise and crave flesh, trapping Joy and Taren with a group of others trying to fight their way out. Unfortunately for the group of others, Taren and Joy are all   even at the most inappropriate moments. Can they survive the zombie apocalypse AND all the feelings flying around?
I particularly liked the queer sidecast, the range of POVs beyond the two love interests (though that may instead be offputting if you want a 'pure' romance) and the continuous tension escalation. If you read a lot of zombie books, this probably won't be anything new, but it is a solid romp and doesn't take itself too seriously.
